Today, Whitespace Studio, nestled in the heart of Stony Stratford, invited people to gather together for a love and kindness mediation class to celebrate International Day of Peace.
The 45-minute mediation class took place at 7.45am with students practicing in the beautiful, light filled space with soothing warm candle light; setting a tranquil escape from the daily stresses and outside noise.
In 1981, the United Nations marked 21st September as International Day of Peace to provide an opportunity for all humanity to come together, in spirit and in action, to forward the ideals of and conditions for peace. And now every year on this day, millions of people gather across the world to share their hope for peace.
Whitespace Studio hosted the meditation class for people to come together as a community with the intention of creating peace using thoughts, actions and feelings to create a more harmonious world.
Deborah Berryman, Founder and Director of Whitespace Studio & Wellbeing comments: “We are so incredibly touched by how many people came together and joined us for a morning meditation practice. It was a wonderful way to start the day, particularly having so much positive energy in one room. We’d like to thank everyone who took time out of their usual busy morning routine to dedicate their time to practice, and hope the effect ripples on into their day and lives.”
